I would like to be a green teacher. Let me clarify that. I would like to be more supportive of the environment but as a teacher I have probably used up a forest or 2 just in handouts alone. My biggest recommendation to teachers today would be for them to get a laptop and an LCD projector to present lessons or use to display a handout instead of running all those copies off every day. The second most important piece of equipment would be a document camera. You can display anything the students have done from art work to their papers quickly and easily. Well, you do need that LCD projector to use with it. Just think what those changes alone would mean if this kind of equipment were to be used regularly. We might even save a forest or two.
